I didn’t know my own strength, And I crashed down, and I tumbled, But I did not crumble, I got through all the pain, I didn’t know my own strength, Survived my darkest hour, My faith kept me alive, I picked myself back up, Hold my head up high, I was not built to break, ( I didn’t know my own strength. )

[block; Nikki]How are you sleeping lately? Better?
Do you want to come to yoga classes with me? Apparently they can help teach you how to relax through meditation which might help?
Did you try the lavender I got you on your pillow? [/block]I'm looking forward to spring. As much as I enjoy the hot chocoa nights of winter, where you get to go home and cuddle up on the sofa with a film and blankets, I am certainly looking forward to seeing Central Park look green and fresh again. I miss being able to go out for evening walks without it being pitch black.

Christmas was ... good. It could have been worse. The turkey was a little bit dry but then I'm not a cook so that I don't think I did too shabby if I do say so myself. All in all I had a good day, really. Went to see the kids afterwards and spent some time with them. Christmas day is a really lonely day, it's one of those days when if you don't have family it's really driven home. The kids are good though, if they're siblings they just try and be there for each other. It's just hard. Christmas is one of those times when you're meant to be with family, spend the whole day in their company opening presents and just... being there with each other.
I can't believe this year has gone so fast! It's nearly 2010. That is scary. I'm going to have to think about my new year resolutions soon. This will be my last post of the year. Wow.
I hope everyone has a great night, be safe, take care of each other and Happy New Year.

It's Halloween soon and I'm sorting out taking some of the kids from foster homes trick or treating. They're all beyond excited and it's so funny watching them trying and decide what they want to be. It's amusing how they're all leaning toward superheroes. Does anyone have any suggestions for them? Otherwise we'll never end up trick or treating. Which would be a shame as I'm actually looking forward to it.
What is everyone else doing for it? I'm not sure what I'm doing afterward but I might be persuaded to come to something if anyone is going anywhere?

Today was a bitter-sweet day. One of the little boys whose case I've been on was adopted after spending a month with social services. They're a lovely couple and I think he'll be very happy with them though I will definitely miss seeing him as often as I usually do. It's nice to see the happy endings for kids like him.
